Many women will experience a hormone imbalance and not even realize it. Symptoms can range from subtle to debilitating and are often masked by medications that are prescribed for anxiety, depression, insomnia, weight gain, and more. Having your hormones checked regularly will reveal whether your hormones are optimized. The good news – BioTE® Medical is here to help.
Why BioTe Hormone Therapy?
Because it’s easy!
BioTE® Medical Hormone Pellet Therapy is the only method of hormone replacement therapy that provides sustained hormone levels throughout the day, for up to 4 to 6 months, without any “roller coaster” effect. Now…that’s easy!
What is the Goal of Hormone Optimization Therapy in Women?
In women, the balancing of hormones may provide an individual with a greatly improved quality of life. In addition to feeling great, studies have shown hormone optimization may be able to help reduces one’s chance of contracting certain diseases as well as the severity of particular conditions.
What is Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy?
Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) for women optimizes the desired hormones of a patient within seven to ten days.
Every BHRT pellet is custom created with every patient’s unique physiology in mind. Because of this, every treatment is tailored to each patient in order to ensure success in the balancing of their hormones.
What is BHRT pellet therapy?
Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, or BHRT, is the most natural way to overcome hormone deficiencies and hormone imbalances at any age. Bio-identical hormones have many benefits over conjugated hormones. These hormones are delivered to patients in the form of pellets. These pellets are placed just under the skin in an outpatient procedure with less than a week of recovery time before patients can return to their normal active lifestyles and exercise routines.
What are the benefits of BHRT pellets?
There are many benefits to BHRT pellets over traditional pellets.
-The first is that the hormones within BHRT pellets are bio-identical; meaning that they are structurally the same as naturally occurring human hormones.
-The second is that these hormones are found in nature and are plant-derived. This implies that the hormones used in BHRT pellet therapy for women are more natural and may have fewer negative interactions within the body.
-Another benefit of pellet therapy is that the pellets remain within the body and consistently provide the dosing that the body requires. This contrasts with other hormone replacement therapy administrations in which the hormone is provided in spurts, such as pills and creams, resulting in a rollercoaster effect of relief to discomfort for the patient.
What are pellets?
Pellets contain bio-identical hormones custom compounded in a pharmacy within the United States. The quality of the hormones used for BioTE Medical pellets is extremely high and consistently tested in every batch.
What are the drawbacks of pellet therapy?
The only drawback of pellet therapy is that there may be an upfront cost associated with the treatment. This is because many insurance carriers do not cover BHRT pellet therapy. It is possible that insurance carriers do not provide coverage for BHRT because it is a natural treatment which cannot be patented and therefore cannot be approved by the FDA.
How does it work?
Your age management package will include a thorough consultation with Dr. Laurette Smith, who is also our owner and medical director.
-Dr. Smith will review your medical history, current symptoms and detailed lab work and if you qualify for hormone therapy, an appointment for the exact pellet insertion will be done by Dr. Smith.
-Pellet insertion is a relatively simple in-office procedure done under local anesthesia. It takes an average of 15-30 minutes in total.
-The pellets are inserted subcutaneously (under the fatty lining of skin) in the upper buttocks through a very small incision.
-The incision is then closed with sterile tape strips. Dr. Smith perfoms all the insertions.
Within a week to ten days after your pellet insertion, Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) begins to work, and BioTE Medical patients are back to their active lifestyles.
